I realize that we haven't made a big announcement about it, but Mark and I are parents now!
On January 6th, a 16-year-old boy named Anthony moved in with us. We went through foster parent training last fall, and so far have had a really great experience. Before he came to us, the social worker kept saying he's a "great kid" and he is. He's been a blessing and a little bit of a challenge, but nearly as much of a challenge as we were braced for…at least, not yet.
The spring and summer will be beautiful here in the Shenandoah Valley - start making plans to come visit!

Life is definitely a lot fuller with school drop-off and pick-ups, trips to hang out at the mall, cooking dinner more consistently, and keeping up with my classwork on top of that. But it's been really good.
I don't know how much I can say about Anthony here, so I'll keep it sweet and welcome phone calls for more information. He's 17 now, really loves the outdoors and anything camo, loves school only because it's where he can see his friends, and has been excited to learn how to cook and do his own laundry.
It's been a cold winter here, and we're so ready for it to be over so we can get out hiking some more!
